The Relevance of Matrix-Rhythm-Therapy for Competitive Dogs and Family Dogs

*******************

“Matrix Rhythm Therapy” as such, including the below-stated purposes, modes of action and medical applications of the “Matrixmobil®” device, have their origins in Complementary Medicine and are understood as alternatives and supplements to the scientifically-based treatment methods of conventional medicine. At present, the claims concerning the stated therapeutic applications and treatment methods are supported only by studies with small cohort numbers, pilot studies, observational evidence and case reports. No clinical studies of Evidence Level 1b (randomized, placebo-controlled trials of high methodological quality and an adequate number of test persons) or Evidence Level 1a (Meta-analyses based on an array of high-quality Level 1b-studies) are presently available; so that the stated therapy, treatment methods and treatment possibilities must be regarded as not yet validated, or at least controversial, according to the criteria of orthodox scientific medicine.

Many brilliant results of Matrix-Rhythm horse treatment led veterinarians and physiotherapists to even use this method with pets. Up until now, Matrix-Rhythm Therapy has been integrated into many small animal veterinary practices and rehabilitation centres where it has become indispensable.

The muscles of competitive dogs are heavily stressed and are essential for optimal use when, for example, being used in service as search and rescue dogs. With the assistance of Matrix-Rhythm Therapy, the muscles of dogs in sporting competitions will be ideally prepared for best performance so that treated dogs can gain an edge leading to valuable seconds.

In small animal veterinary practices Matrix-Rhythm Therapy enjoys high acceptance among “patients” and their owners alike. The therapy facilitates and maintains the willingness of competitive dogs to perform as well as the restoring the inner balance and health of both competitive and family dogs.

Indications

Matrix-Rhythm Therapy is applied in prevention and rehabilitation. It is recommended for the following indications:

  • Hardening and contractions (e.g., gracilis contraction);
  • Chronic back and neck pain (treatment after hernia disc, spondylosis or cauda equina compression syndrome);
  • Injuries of tendons or ligaments;

  • Reduction of swelling (haematoma, oedema); and
  • Increase in the functional and structural regeneration of nerves.

Even without diagnostic findings, it is still useful to apply Matrix-Rhythm Therapy in regard to:

  • Prophylactic treatment to prevent problems of the muscles or tendons;

  • In preparation for competitions (to combine forces); and
  • To improve regeneration after high performance.
